Pic2In the second of three interviews with the top three women in GNCC, we talk to Ashley Crouch. She is JT and Gretchen Bennett’s weapon of choice when it’s time to battle in GNCC’s ladies class. We talked to her about a little bit of everything so sit back, read, and enjoy!

Who is Ashley Crouch?  Where you from?  How long have you been riding?

Ashley Crouch
I’m a 16 year old junior at Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg TX.  I’ve been riding since I was about 4.

When I talked to you and your Dad at Snowshoe, it seemed like your dad, brother, and you put a lot miles on the road.  How many years have you run the GNCC series?

Ashley Crouch
My brother and dad have been doing the series a little longer than me. The first year they did GNCC's I stayed and did the Texas series TCCRA. So I started the GNCC's about 4 years ago.

How do you balance being a typical teenager through the week and living the life of a professional racer on the weekends? How many championships have you won back home?

Ashley Crouch
It’s hard during school because I’m in athletics, play volleyball, and basketball, but it also helps keep me in shape for racing. I’ve won ladies Int. at our winter series TORO in 2006. In 07 and 08 I won the Ladies Exp. The past 2 years they have had a Ladies Pro class that I have won and been the Ladies champion there for 4 years now.

Awesome! So, you are riding for the Geico team this year.  How much of an impact have J.T. and Gretchen made on your career?

Ashley Crouch
Riding for Geico/JG Offroad this year has been great! JT and Gretchen are really laid back and cool. I really enjoy riding for them and they have introduced me to a lot of other sponsors in the industry which makes me more known throughout the racing community.

Leanne Bange and you are battling it out in the points this year and trading positions. Have you had any good battles on the track?

Ashley Crouch
Yeah we have been battling basically since I started riding the Women’s Class. Every race we battle back and forth, from getting stuck to crashing. Racing with Leeann gives me the incentive to push harder every time.

What kind of cross-training do you do other than team sports? Do you ride any moto, endurocross with your brother, bicycles, etc.?

Ashley Crouch
I ride a little moto every now and then. I’m not the best at jumping, but when I'm riding with Matt he pushes me and helps me out. The endurocross's I would like to try, but right now, I'm too little and don’t have the upper body strength.

To wrap it up, what are your goals for the rest of the season, and beyond?

Ashley Crouch
For the rest of the season, I’m gonna push as hard as I can and try not to fall back in points. As for next year, I want to graduate high school and try and win the Women’s Class for 2011. Also, next year I think I’m gonna try the ISDE in Finland.
